Road Rage in Delhi:

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under General

Recently a young man had been killed in road rage at a posh market in Delhi. The case has been very much popularized by the media so that everybody is talking about it and people begin to think that they shouldn’t overreact on the road if some bad incident happens there. In this popular case a man’s (Rahul) car had touched the car of another guy, Rajesh, though unintentionally – name changed, as stated by a spectator. The version may be otherwise, as the family members of the deceased claimed then.

Having hit the car of Rajesh, Rahul got out of his car and started arguing with Rajesh and challenged him to get off the car. But Rajesh was not in a mood to go in for fighting. He didn’t come out of the car. Rajesh even tried to escape from the scene but couldn’t succeed in it as Rahul was standing just adjacent to his car. After a few minutes Rajesh again tried to go away from the place but his car hit Rahul in the end. Rahul was killed on the spot. Having seen him dead and the crowd, Rajesh used the back-gear of the car and tried to disappear from the place but in vain as people caught him. Rahul was taken to the hospital but the doctor declared him brought dead. In this way the trivial hit had turned into the loss of one life.

Rajesh was then arrested by the police and was booked in under some sections of criminal act. Next day he got bail as usual it happens in such like cases. As both the guys belonged to the reputed families, the blame game has been started. Neither of the parties is ready to understand the reality even after getting such a big loss as one had gone to his heavenly abode and another’s career had certainly been ruined, whosoever may be at fault.

The time has now come when people of Delhi must learn lesson from this incident. They should also think that the roads are not meant only for them. Everybody has equal right to use the roads so that every one ought to use them as per the laws framed by the traffic police. These traffic rules are not made to harass the motor driver but to provide him smooth driving. If any unpleasant thing happens on the road one shouldn’t loose one’s temper. It had been better to think that other guy is also a road user as he is. So I should behave with him properly. In case there is any damage occurred to the vehicle the same will be repaired through the insurance company as all the vehicles are mandatorily insured. So no body is at loss even after some damage of the vehicle. Even the big damage can’t be compared with the loss of life.

Amazing Love Marriage:

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under General

Ram Parsad, a resident of Ganga nagar is about fifty years old having a mother, a wife and three children – two sons and one daughter. He belongs to a middle class family and has a rural background.  The word rural-background is especially mentioned here so that a number of things can be understood easily in this article. People who are so called villagers have certainly some rigidity for their many rituals and beliefs.

Every thing was going on smoothly in his family as apparently it appeared. One day he came to know that his elder son who was of marriageable age was going in for love marriage. He tried to persuade the son not to go for such marriage as our cultural set-up doesn’t permit us for the act. But the son, Suraj paid no heed to his advice. After that Ram Parsad threatened him for dire consequences but in vain. On the contrary Suraj went to the court to seek police protection for his life and succeeded in getting it. Then he went in for love marriage. Ram Parsad was very frustrated from the act of his son.

One fine day people all of a sudden got very strange news that Ram Parsad had also performed his second marriage. Having got married he also moved the court to seek police protection for his life. Having gone through the whole case the court was also amazed as to how he dared to move the court because everybody knows that going in for second marriage is an offence as per the Hindu Marriage Act. Ram Parsad retorted in his plea that he took this step only to take revenge from his son. No body was satisfied with his argument as there was no point in favoring Ram Parsad on this issue. His wife stated that Ram Parsad used to torture her since the time she got married to him. Even his own mother was not in his favor. She also said, ‘Ram Parsad is at fault. He shouldn’t go for this illegal act and which ashamed her in front of the whole society.’ She also added that he was not a good natured guy. This story appeared in a news channel on TV. The channel also viewed that the court and police were bewildered what type of step they should take in this case. The news channel also telecast that the court was also thinking on this line whether Ram Parsad was doing a drama just to get police protection as his son was availing.

Having watched this news a question arose in the mind why the court and police should get bewildered. The case is quite clear and there is no ambiguity in this case. There is no good favoring Ram Parsad as he had committed a crime after going in for second marriage. He must thus be penalized as it hadn’t been better to dismiss the case without taking any action. Ram Parsad’s argument is also not worth considering as he has no right to go for second marriage though Indian law permits every body if anyone desires to go for love marriage as his son did. It seems that it is simply a drama that Ram Parsad created just to hide his offence. The case must be closed with wise decision.

Family Dispute?

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under General

In case if a son and his father have a dispute, the son can’t forcibly inherit the property of his father. This is stated by the Tis Hazari Court in its one of the verdicts. Actually an old man was being harassed by his own son as the latter occupied his father’s house and was not even looking after him. So the father moved to the court to seek the help. He filed the suit against his son in the court by saying that the accused hadn’t been paying rent for the last many years but previously was paying rent regularly; he hadn’t mentioned in the case that the accused was his own son. That showed how much the father was in deep depression. But in reply the son clarified that the landlord was his own father and he had been living there in his own ancestral property. He also stated that he had spent money in the construction of the said property and as such the house was the joint property of his parents as well as of his grand mother. Therefore he was automatically the legal heir of the property. Apart from it he added that he regularly gave his father one thousand rupees every month as for his care. Apart from this his father had threatened him many times that he would get him trapped in some false cases, for which he had already lodged complaints twice against his father in the police station, first in October 1998 and second in August 2000.

This case took ten years in getting decision. At last the court gave its verdict in favor of the father. The Court observed, ‘If the father was getting rent from his son earlier, the son must continue it. Now as the son had not paid the rent, he was ordered to vacate the house.’ It is thus really amazing that the father had never mentioned during the whole trial that the tenant was his own son.

There are some points when the landlord can get his house vacated from his tenant, which are as follows. If a tenant doesn’t pay rent in time he has to vacate the house whether he is a relative or a kid of the landlord. Another situation arises if the house is not in living condition and it needs repair or the owner needs the house for his own purpose. The tenancy can be terminated in such situations.

It does not mean that all the powers are in favor of the landlord but the tenant also has some rights. Getting the water and electricity connection and demanding the receipt of the rent are the rights of the tenant. The tenant may also move to the Court if he feels the rent is exorbitant. On dispute, the tenant can deposit the rent in the court. In case of argument, when the landlord disconnects the water and electricity connections the concerned authority will provide him the connections without NOC; the Supreme and the High Courts both have already given such judgments.

At last the old man got justice though he might get a little relief from the court because his son may go to high court against the lower court’s decision. Even if he doesn’t go to the higher court, the father may feel something emotionally bad as he is ultimately his own son.

The Height of Suspicion and Homeopathy!!!

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under health

Suspicious is an adjective and used generally to characterize human nature but some time it finds itself in animals too. If it is present in a man as a subsidiary disposition it is useful and makes the man more vigil. But when it is found as a main character it works as a curse. In Homeopathy the word suspicious is elaborated in detail so that the system can be used to control this evil.

Before discussing it I want to narrate a story related to an animal in which the height of the suspicion is shown.

In a jungle, there was a pond where a big family of tortoise lived. Once they went far from the pond for picnic. In the afternoon, all got hungry and opened their lunch box to have the meal. Soon they realized that all the dishes were lacking in salt. Having found the food tasteless a small tortoise said that he would go back home to bring the salt but there is a condition that no one would take lunch until he came back. All of them accepted his condition as it was the need of the hour. The small tortoise then went to bring the salt. He didn’t return though the sun was about to set. After a thought they decided to take the food as they were already very late. As soon as they began to eat, the small tortoise appeared in front of them and said, ‘I know the nature of my family and my suspicion find me correct. Knowing well your nature I did not go home but hid behind the bushes.’ On hearing his talk, the rest of the family members couldn’t help laughing as they knew the suspicious nature of the little tortoise. But on the whole it can be said that it was the height of suspicion.

In Homeopathy there is a long list of medicines having the character, Suspicion; these are about one hundred and ten in numbers.  Lachesis and Stramonium are well known for it; every homeopathic physician knows about them and cures successfully many ailments when he finds ‘suspicious’ as a prominent feature in any patient with these medicines.

Red Light on vehicle and so called VIPs

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under General

People in Delhi break so many laws every day as either they don’t know about the laws or deliberately break them for amusement. Some of them don’t abide by those laws which are not applicable on all, like using red light over the car. Only some VIP’s can use red light on their vehicle so that they can pass the road comfortably. But some people use it on their car to show that they were also having a tag of VIP. Some emergency vehicles like ambulance, fire- brigade, PCR, and police patrolling can use red lights. Some people in Delhi can use red light on their car like central VIP’s, besides them Governor, Chief-Minister, High Court Judges and some other designated VIP’s can use red lights on their cars. Anybody else if uses it is liable to be punished.

The traffic police have begun a drive against those who are illegally using red light on their vehicle. The police took an action against fifteen people. An MP, two MLAs, and one traffic department officer were among those fifteen people who were caught for this offence. There is also an important point which came in the notice that most of them don’t belong to Delhi. Besides this some of them are only block or district presidents of a political party. Not only they ruin their own image but also defame their party.

Some people are attached with traffic police through the face book. These people have queried about the red light users on the face book. There is a thought that the police started driving this movement after this query. The Joint CP, Satyender Garg said that he had also gotten such complaints.  After that different teams of the police stopped the red light users and enquired of their eligibility and caught those who were using the red light illegally. The punishment of this offence is only hundred rupees and cancellation of the registration of the vehicle as well as taking the vehicle in its custody.

It was not mentioned in the news that the police have taken any of the vehicles in its custody. The police drive would not have been effective in the last if they had challaned the culprit by hundred rupees only. If the police really want to stop this practice they have to increase the penalties.

Whooping Cough and Coccus Cacti !!!

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under health

Coccus Cacti is a medicine given in Homeopathic Materia Medica . I have studied this medicine so many times and also used it on my patients suffering from some respiratory conditions. Today when I was reading this medicine I got one new point that it is prepared from a bug found on the cactus of Mexico and America and it is the reason that the second word in the name of this medicine is cacti. When I asked one of my colleagues who was talking to me on phone about the source of this medicine he told me that it is prepared from cactus as cacti is given in its name. Then I told him the whole story of this medicine.

One more thing is peculiar in Coccus Cacti that the ailment of this medicine appears from cold; it may be cold weather, cold drink or air but when the patient starts suffering from respiratory problems he demands again cold drinks to take as he feels better after taking them even in cold air he feels better.

Whooping cough is marked in it and the expectoration is stringy, viscid, and white in color that comes out with difficulty. After expectoration, paroxysm of cough is relieved. Cough is more aggravated at 2 or 3 in the morning. Kali Bich also has the ropy mucous but it is greenish yellow in appearance.

Migrain and Lac Caninum !!!

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under health

Today I was in a confusion what medicine should we study as nothing special was in mind. Suddenly I thought to study Lac Caninum. Caninum on its own defines that it is related to animal kingdom. Canine is an adjective and used for dog so the medicine prepared from her dog’s milk is called Lac Caninum. It is a very good medicine in conditions like tonsillitis, migraine etc. which has a character to change the side. This symptom is markedly present in this remedy. This medicine is also used for drying up the milk of nursing woman if needed. It is just the reverse of Lac Defloratum as it is used to increase the flow of milk in lactating mother.

Forgetfulness and weakness of memory is present in this medicine. It is a strange symptom as it is known that the dog can remember many things at a time. According to a new research a dog can remember about one thousand words so it is difficult to explain why ‘forgetfulness’ is present in the medicine. Anacadium also has forgetfulness but it occurs in those who do a lot of mental work. In Acid-Phos, forgetfulness is due to over indulgence in sexual activity. Baryta-Carb’s forgetfulness is found in children or in old aged people. Glonine is a medicine used in patients who forget even the well known streets but in Medorrhinum the patient forgets particularly the names.

Lac Can patient is having hyperesthesia too.

AIIMS and RTI

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under General

There are some premier institutes in India where education of international standard is provided. All India Institute of Medical Sciences is considered among one of them. Such Institutes organize their own competitive exams for the admission seekers. Every year students in thousands in number appear in such exams and only a few of them who are really called cream and lucky get admission there.

AIIMS also conducts such exam for those who want to get admission in graduate, PG and super specialty courses. The institute declares the names of the successful candidates only but doesn’t reveal the marks of the others. The institute neither returns the answer sheet of the students nor shows them answer copy of the question paper. So the candidates can’t come to know where they have made errors in the answer sheet. This year one of the unsuccessful candidates tried to know his mistakes and for that he used the help of the RTI but the competition authority refused to hand over his answer sheet by saying that it was the property of the institute.

Then the candidate moved to the High Court for justice. AIIMS authority again kept its side in the same fashion by saying that it was its intellectual property so they were unable to hand over him the answer sheet as could be misused. The Court asked the authority the name who could misuse it. The authority couldn’t answer this question appropriately so the court ordered the authority to give the candidate his answer sheet along with the answer copy of the question paper. This is really a big relief to the candidate as well as to all the admission seeker students. Now the students will be able to know where they make muddle so that they can rectify it in future.

Bronchial Asthma and Homeopathy !!!

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under health

Yesyerday a patient of mine, Asha (name changed) came with her husband and son to my office to show her medical reports that were suggested to her a day before. That was in fact the first day when she consulted me for her ailment. She was suffering from difficulty in breathing along with some other symptoms. She was having it for the last six/seven years. I asked her what type of stress she got before that. But she was unable to recall the old memories as no doctor had asked her such question. I took her complete medical history and examined her thoroughly. Then I diagnosed her that she might be suffering from Bronchial Asthma. I advised her to go for some pathological tests and x-ray.  Even after these tests, her diagnosis was same.

I prescribed her some medicines that were dispensed in my clinic. The day when she came to show me her reports I asked her about her condition. She told me that she felt better then. Even she was looking cheerful too. Her husband was also looking happy and satisfied with the treatment.

He asked me how the Bronchial Asthma occurs and what its symptoms are. I replied his query as follows. It is a disease which occurs in the lungs so it can be called respiratory disease and affects any age group. The man who has a family history of Bronchial Asthma or Tuberculosis may be more susceptible to such diseases. Some types of allergies also cause it. Most of the Asthma patients are allergic to dust, mites, pollens and smokes. In spite of these there are more than thousands things which may cause it. Some patients even give history of eczema which they had before getting Asthma. It is really difficult to explain all the causes of it. Asthma itself has many varieties that are all explainable.

There is a long list of medicines that are used in Homeopathy. Some medicines have special affinity on the bronchioles that can be prescribed quite easily after a little efforts. These medicines are given in mother tincture form but their effects are not long lasting. There is still one more type of treatment for Asthma called constitutional treatment. That is truly very effective and has the capacity to provide the patient satisfactory results. The doctor requires a lot of skill to provide such treatment.

It is certain that Homeopathy has better capacity to treat Bronchial Asthma than other systems of medicine as per my opinion though some people may differ from my judgment.

Security of senior citizens !!!

Published by Dr. Anil K Agarwal under General

In today’s newspaper there was an advertisement regarding security of old people given by Delhi police. I have gone through it but after reading it many questions arose in my mind. I just want to share them with others. There is no ill will about these thoughts but may be helpful in searching the remedy for the olds.

The first slogan in the advertisement was that security of the senior citizens is our priority. It means rest of the securities come after that. Does the security of women and children may come on least precedence? What about terrorism, it comes on which number in the priority list. Consequently it can be said, ‘If you are in Rome do as Roman’s do.’

In the next advice, the police suggested them some precautions. Number 1- Fix a magic eye and safety chain in the door. This is good if you use such safety devices but these devices can’t assure your safety. If a known person with bad intentions comes to the house the old man will open the door.

Second point: Install safety devices in the house like house alarm, closed circuit television, and door camera; these devices can help in catching the accused but may not be helpful in stopping the crime.

Third: it is advised to fix iron grill in windows, doors, and the place of cooler as well as AC. This is definitely a good guidance but fixing the grill on the door doesn’t provide better safety rather looks ridiculous and shows that those who live inside are psychic.

Fourth: keep the servant after police verification. It is a better opinion but the police must declare it what type of verification they do in verifying the servants.

In the next point it is said that get your work done from known plumber, electrician, carpenter and labors or recommended by RWA’s. This counsel is half correct; All the RWAs don’t keep such workers after police verifications so one must not rely on them.

Some recommendations are certainly good as these are; don’t trust on the servants who come to your house after a long interval. If you want to go out of the city inform your neighbors and keep some light on. Keep your valuables in the bank lockers. Connect your house with your neighbor’s house through alarm.

There are so many other suggestions that must be kept in mind but the truth is that the crime graph is going high like inflation of prices of the onion.
