Some weeks ago the metro-train authority of Delhi announced good news for females as they reserved the first coach of every train for ladies. It was appreciated by the ladies and even by the gents. A large group of men always favors if any exclusive facility is provided to women. Some people think that women don’t deserve additional privilege as it reduces their ability. It is really true if anybody gets extra facilities he can’t become as competent as he can be.

Sometimes it is also seen that those who get extra privilege misuse it. When it happens the society is forced to think why this extra facility is given to them. This extra facility is called special quota. The fresh example of it is seen in the metro coach when some people entered the ladies coach.

Nowadays the police are running a special drive at metro stations. They are running this drive in such a way that even some women are also protesting it themselves. On Thursday Gurgaon police had beaten the men who entered the ladies coach. Not only they had beaten them but also made them sit in the pose of a cock. Many people condemned this action of the police. They said the police have taken this drive when the passengers have almost stopped entering in the ladies coach.  Although the police denied the incidence of beating but the photo published in a newspaper was telling the truth.  On the other side the passengers also protested against the police torture. Some ladies also showed the courage to become bully at that moment.

It is said that the police started this drive at five metro stations after getting the complaint. After this beating incident the public started protesting against the police act. Some ladies also beat the passengers but some retorted the act of the police. They said majority of the passengers are educated in metro. Therefore the police should not behave the public brutally. At that time some police officers were also present there.

India is also living in the 21^st century when punishing a school boy is considered crime but the police are beating people as if they were animals. The police have no authority to behave like this with the public. The Govt. must take such incident seriously and take action against those police officers who are found guilty of this crime. The Govt. must send the police officers for orientation program where they will be taught how to behave with the public.

The third page of the newspaper is generally full of crime related news. That we have been reading since we began to read the paper. Everyday we read this page and feel bad. Neither the newspaper stops publishing such news nor we stop reading them. This is a vicious circle which is difficult to be broken. Many times some news obliges you to think about them. A long back I and Mira went to Haridwar for outing as it is our favorable place. After spending two days we came back to Delhi. We reached interstate bus terminus at about 3 am in the night. We took auto rickshaw to go home. He left us at home but when I paid him the fare he told me whether he could advice me. I nodded my head in positive sense then he said, ‘This is not the right time to go home from the ISBT. It would have been better if you had waited there until sunrise.’ I could not realize his meaning completely though I understood his connotation a little bit so I told him its my area and nobody could dare to say me anything. The talk had been over after my inscription. Today I read a story in the newspaper how the dacoits killed a young man just to loot the Honda City car when he resisted them. Reading the story I remembered the instance that I have narrated. That time I might have been correct as the crime rate was not high.

The killing and looting occurred in North Delhi. The deceased was an engineer and resided in Pitam Pura area where the crime happened. The dacoits blocked the way of the car and demanded the key of the car. When he refused to hand over the key they shot at him. After that they threw him out of the car and ran away with the car. He, Prateek was the only son of his parents. The police registered a case of looting and killing. According to the police, Prateek went to attend a wedding reception party of his colleague’s brother. He was unmarried and was suffering from asthma. After the party he dropped one of his friends at his house and was going back home. It was about 12.30 at mid night when biker dacoits blocked his way.

When the dacoits had gone he walked on foot about 100 meter and reached the main gate of his colony. The security guard of the colony informed his parents about the crime and his injury. Immediately his parents and neighbors took him to Maharaja Agarsain Hospital, Punjabi Bagh where he took his last breath after sometime. About 1 o’ clock the police got the information and after that it arrived at the hospital. The crime branch examined the crime place and enquired of the nearby people but couldn’t succeed in finding any witness of the crime.

The police said that generally the people are saved if the bullet injures the arm but Prateek whose blood has drained out in excess and was also the patient of asthma died due to the said reason.

It is true that the crime graph is going up like price hike. There may be some relations between price hike, unemployment and crime. The Govt. must take up this serious issue efficiently other wise it will be difficult to live in such a dreaded city.

Today I had an interesting thought in the mind and wanted to write down on it but it vanished when I was watching news on the TV in the afternoon. It was on a gang rape occurred last night in Delhi, the capital of India. I felt bad after this news. I decided to pen down it and oblige the people to take up this issue seriously. It is not a question of this case but consider about the law and order situation of the so called world class city. Nowadays many multinational companies have come in and around Delhi. Most of these companies are working twenty four hours a day, round the clock. The big shares of employment in these companies are fulfilled by the girls. These girls are equally competent and daring as the boys are so they do the night shifts happily without saying no. After the night shifts these working girls come back home in the odd hours in late night. The companies don’t provide them any special security that is essential as per the need in addition to the cab. The cab picks them up and drops at the nearest road not at their house though the distance between the road and the house is generally in meters that are in two digits. But sometime the dreaded crime occurs in this small distance. Therefore it is the duty of the company to drop them at their door step and must wait until the girl has gone inside her house safely.

The case that happened yesterday is the result of the carelessness of the cab driver. The victim girl works in a company that has office in Gurgaon. The cab driver dropped her about 100 meters away from her house. At the same time some criminal took her and ran away in their tempo. Such type of crimes that occur at mid night have revealed the efficiency of the police. The ineffective police work as a tonic that enhances the courage in criminals.

If the Govt. and the police is not in a position to provide effective law and order in the night time they must search out some other alternatives. The Govt. can ban the night working of these companies till then. The company should also consider this condition sympathetically and allot girls only day duty. There are also some other alternatives present if the companies take up this matter seriously.

There was a crowd in a bus. A young man’s hand touched the shoulder of an old lady with out any intention. She retorted if he had any manner. The man apologized to her by saying ‘sorry aunty’. Even then her anger went on increasing. The co – passenger said, ‘Why do you get angery when he has apologized to you?’ The lady replied, ‘I could forgive him but why he called me aunty.’

Natha Singh was going beside the sea when he found an air tight bottle. When he opened it a ghost came out of it and said, ‘O Lord, order me what I can do for you. I can fulfill your three desires.’ Natha Singh said to him, ‘You order Osama to come to Delhi from Afganistan bare foot and repeat the same thrice.’

The ghost got amazed and said, ‘Why do you want to repeat the same desire?’ Natha Singh smiled and said, ‘Think! If he walked that much what would happen to his health.’

A poet announced, ‘Anybody who hears his poems for two hours continuously will be paid one thousand rupees.’ One day two men came to his house and one of them said indicating another, ‘He is my brother who will listen to your poems. I am going to leave him here and will take him back after two hours.’

The poet had recited his poems in front of him for two hours. The man kept on encouraging the poet during his recitation. After two hours his brother came back, got one thousand rupees and took his brother back. One day the poet got news through some source that the audience was deaf.

A girl joined an office. A man in the same office fell in love with her. One day in the evening he reached her colony and enquired of her from a stranger, ‘Where does Reena live, I am her brother?’ The stranger replied, ‘I am glad to see you as I am her husband.’

He advised her to marry Sanjay. ‘Why dad?’ she enquired. ‘Because I have been borrowing money from him for the last six months even then he comes to our house twice or thrice a week.’

The telephone rang and Pandit Ram Parsad took the receiver. A voice came from the other side, ‘My servant will come and give him ten bottles of whiskey.’ Pandit Ji got amazed and said, ‘I am Pandit Ram Parasd speaking.’ ‘What are you doing in the liquor shop, a voice came from other side?’

There are two TV serials, Big Boss and Rakhi ka Insaff, which are in a hot debate whether these should be aired on TV channel or not. The allegation is these serials are using abusive language and scenes which are objectionable to show on the TV. For that some people raised their eyebrows and appealed against them even in the court. Seeing the public resentment against these programs the concerned ministry, the ministry of information and broadcasting, took a drastic step and ordered them to show these play only at night between 11pm to 5 am. The authority also added that they would show the disclaimer. The disclaimer will label these programs adult only. Although the order is to be implemented on Wednesday yet the serial named Big Boss was telecast at its scheduled time. The ministry may take it seriously but the producer has shown his courage saying he had not got the order. Only the time will decide the fate of the disobedience.

This is first time in Indian history when the Govt. has ordered to change the time of telecast of any program. The Govt. had also ordered that even the clippings of these programs couldn’t be shown on any channel during day time. According to the concerned officers these serials are not for every viewer so that keeping them in the category of adults there timings have been decided.

Television is used by everyone in the family and is watched sitting together whether the guy is child or adult and either male or female in most of the families. Some families watch TV even up to late night and particularly the night that is before the holiday. Therefore casting adult programs at night may not serve the purpose. The best alternative is that adult program ought not to telecast at any time.

The adult serials can be shown at the theaters because the authority of the theater can easily restrict the entry of teenagers as the practice is used for adult movies.

Yesterday a building in Laxmi Nagar area in Delhi had collapsed and about sixty five persons had been killed in it. This is a very tragic news. Leaders of all political party visited the place. Media people also went there to cover the news and photographs of leaders. They show less about the sufferers and more about leaders. These leaders show their sympathy to the victims verbally and superficially but without emotions. Nothing affects their hearts. They go there just to show their presence as it is essential for their political career. People also feel happy with their presence and think that now there problems will be solved but the reality is other way round.

One party leader blames others though he knows that it is not the fault of others. No man whether politician or the Govt. officer wants to allow to keep on faulty construction. There is a lot of hue and cry on illegal construction but actually building is generally collapsed due to lack of engineer’s supervision. If a building is constructed under the guidance of an engineer it will not collaps whether it is illegal or legal in the eyes of the authority.

Engineers can construct building even in the middle of a pool of water. Many old buildings and palaces had been erected in the past and these are still in good condition, which are the living examples of good architecture. Therefore we all must understand that every building whether small or big, legal or illegal, must be constructed under the supervision of a good and qualified civil engineer.
