Dengue is one type of fevers that is caused by a special variety of mosquito bites. Mosquitoes also have male and female genders. Both genders of mosquitoes bite human beings but in case of dengue, female mosquito bites human being. This mosquito lives in clean water and has one more peculiarity that it bites in day time only. It injects dengue virus in to human being where it again multiplies and causes fever that has peculiar symptoms. Some times its symptoms are so marked that the case is diagnosed easily with out the need of pathological investigations. Dengue fever is prevalent during and after monsoon that generally starts in the month of July and ends in September but this time a case of it has been reported before monsoon as per the news paper statement.

In this way Dengue has knocked at the door of Delhi. Surabhi Sinha is the first victim of Dengue in this season and is being treated in Mool Chand hospital. She is a resident of Satya Niketan at Dhaula Kuan in Delhi. She had high fever and after two or three days developed rashes on all over the body, therefore she was admitted to the hospital where is diagnosed and being treated. According to the treating doctor Dengue is confirmed as her Dengue serology report is positive. Platelets count has also gone down from normal. Doctor said it is a classical case of Dengue and tests have confirmed it although the report has not been sent to MCD. The patient is recovering fast so that hopefully would be discharged from the hospital by Monday and the report be sent to MCD on the same day.

It is also said that one more case of suspected Dengue was admitted here. Dr. N R Das, a health officer Malaria and Dengue in MCD said that no case of Dengue has been reported yet here in this season and would enquire personally about the Mool Chand case on Monday. The month of June is used to prevent Dengue in the country and public is made aware of it before the monsoon commences. Such awareness program is being organized and a meeting in this regard was called on Saturday, 26^th June in which ordinary people, members of RWAs, health officers and members of NGOs participated.

There is a lot of panic among public regarding this disease though it is a simple viral fever in which a patient gets many symptoms like high fever, pain in bones and some time rashes on the body. Occasionally patient may get hemorrhage that is the only dreaded condition where special care and hospitalization is required for platelets transfusion if it is required. Hemorrhage occurring in Dengue is called Dengue Hemorrhagic.

If people are well acquainted with Dengue they would take it carefully but not with panic. People need assurance that when their patient requires hospital support, bed for him is definitely available. This surety can only reduce the fear among people. Many people under anxious state rush to the nearby tiny nursing homes some of which even do malpractice and don’t have adequate facilities to treat such disease. Instead of going to hospital or nursing home the patient should be regularly in touch with his family physician so that he would guide him in time.

Dengue is also well described in Homeopathy and it has many well –proved remedies. Belladonna, Arsenic Alb, Bryonia, Gelsemium, and Eupatorium Perf are the main remedies for Dengue in Homeopathy. Out of which Eupatorium Perf has a typical Dengue like drug picture so that it would be called specific for Dengue. These Homeopathic medicines can be used successfully in the treatment of Dengu.

Kali Bichromicum is a medicine that belongs to kali group as the name itself suggests. Kali Bich acts chiefly on the mucous membrane of nose, pharynx, larynx, trachea and mouth etc, so that there is mucus catarrh. The mucus discharges is tough, stringy and adhere to mucus membrane. It comes out of the mouth in strings and is difficult to remove. It causes ulcers in the mouth and that are punch like. The edges of the ulcers are smooth. They seem to be syphilitic or may be of different variety but Kali Bich has a power to cure such ulcers. It may form ulcer on the soft palate as if it has eaten up the whole palate. It can cause and cure such peculiar type of ulcers.  Even it can produce deposits on the pharynx and is good in diphtheria   and pseudo diphtheritic membrane.

There is pain at the root of the nose. The nasal secretions are green in color and ropy in character. It produces clinkers and slug in the nose. It is good in croups also.

I sent my assistant to buy a news paper, evening edition today. He handed me over an evening paper costing Rupees two per copy. There was two pieces of news on the front page, as one related to rape and other related to suicide of an Indian model cum film heroine. The rape news was concerned with a foreign lady tourist of Netherland.  The head line of the news was this: an Indian guide raped a foreigner who visited India as a tourist. The detail was like this. A girl, named Nicolus (name changed) visited India and stayed in a hotel at Pahar Ganj area in Delhi. She used to go to Janpath where a young man, named Yasir met her. He worked as a tourist guide in Delhi. Some time he sold some products at Janpath. Gradually both became friends. Yasir showed her many tourist attraction points in Delhi. He also used to go to her hotel. After some time their friend ship had been converted into intimate relations. Their time was passing happily but one day there was a quarrel between them what ever the reason.

After that the tourist lodged a complaint with the police about her rape against Yasir. The police took the girl to the hospital to get her medical examination. The result of the medical examination was not mentioned in the news. The police arrested the alleged Yasir, the young man.

There were two points highlighted in the case. First was quite clear as she was raped by the alleged man. The second point was that they were friends and had amicable physical relations continuously in the past. The moment any body who reads such headline may feel ashamed and will think that Indians are uncultured, wild and criminal people. On the other side of the coin we should try to see deeply that Indians are actually down trodden people. If any foreigner says some thing and it is taken correct as granted is a wrong attitude of our government. Indians are treated as if they are not human beings every where whether it is their own country or the other. It is no use of saying India as a biggest democratic country when its citizens are treated as third grade people every where.

Our government should improve its moral at every front and behave with its citizens like human beings. Indian citizens should also enhance their moral values and shouldn’t do any unlawful act with which India’s head bows down with shame. The Govt. should treat every person whether Indian or foreigner equally and culprit must be punished at the earliest possible.

Kali Bromatum also belongs to Kali group. Bromides were misused for sleeplessness, epilepsy, and convulsions as these were supposed to induce sleep when given in a physiological dose but in Homeopathy it is not used like this. It is given when the symptoms of the patient match the drug symptoms; then it doesn’t palliate the diseases whether it is insomnia or epilepsy but cure them.  Sleeplessness may occur if the patient is tired or physically and mentally over-exerted. We know Arnica Montana is a sure shot remedy as it has such symptom. When a patient is anxious, restless, driving from bed to bed at mid-night and fastidious too; Arsenic Album is a remedy to cure such condition of sleeplessness.

We know that the medicine doesn’t has a power to cure any disease but it stimulate the inner of the patient that is called ‘Vital Force’ which help the patient to throw out the disease from the economy of the body. Kali Brom can cause and cure the asthmatic condition of sailors who feel aggravated when they are at the sea-shore and feel better if they are in the sea. This is a peculiar condition which is found only in Kali Brom. No other remedy has this symptom equally ranked to it. There are so many other conditions found in Kali Brom, that I would discuss some time latter as I want to close it down now. It is just the promo of this neglected drug.

A secretary came to her boss’s room; seeing the telephone receiver away from the telephone she said, ‘Sir, should I put the reciever on the telephone?’

Hyoscyamus Nigra is a homeopathic medicine, having delirium ranked near Belladonna and Stramonium. Belladonna predominantly has violent delirium most of the time and occasionally mild. Perhaps Hyoscyamus has low type delirium and even goes to the level of stupor and ultimately reaches unconsciousness like that of Opium. Rarely Hyoscyamus goes in to violent mania or convulsions. Its delirium is so mild that the patient does muttering most of the time indistinctly. It goes in to the delirium of lascivious form so he exposes out his genitals, talks and sings amorously. In the stupor he grasps the imaginary flocks, picks up the bed clothes or his genitals.

It causes Typhoid or Typhoid like diseases that are slow in progress. It has restlessness like Rhus Tox even where it is unable to control the condition Hyoscyamus is given intermittently. After that Rhus Tox completes its job easily. Dr Nash had given his cases where he gave Hyoscyamus as said above and got good results though he said he felt guilty to prescribe medicine in such a fashion. In stupor the patient answers the question with difficulty. He goes in to stupor during answering the question. It is difficult to arouse him from sleep. He passes feces and urine involuntarily in the bed.

Hyoscyamus patient is very suspicious in nature like that of Stramonium and Lachesis. He refuses to take medicine,  feels being poisoned. He has so many suspicions in the mind. He feels people are making plot against him. He is also loquacious. There is Dementia senilis. It is good in old aged patients.

Hyoscyamus has a peculiar type of cough. Cough is dry in nature. It is worse when lying down and better by sitting up. Even if all gone case of Tuberculosis has such symptoms it is also cured. In catarrhal cold it is a common symptom.

Jealousy is also marked in Hyoscyamus as in Lachesis. The patient has it in unhappy love. It has treated many incurable diseases.

The Govt. of Delhi has announced to inflate the Auto-Rickshaw fares. It will be increased by 30 to 40%. It will be implemented after the notification. These fares are increased as the cost of the fuel, petrol, diesel and CNG, has been increased. So it is justified for people belong to Auto-Rickshaw but on the other side it is an additional burden on the pocket of those who use it. The Transport Mister of Delhi, Arvinder Singh lovely announced that Auto-Rickshaw driver would use correct and functional fare meter. They will not refuse to go where the passenger wants and behave properly with him. ‘Functional fare meter, good behaviour of the driver and no refusal to go,’ these three conditions that are imposed over the drivers will be the part of their services. Why did the Minister announce these conditions which seem to be difficult to be fulfilled?  These conditions look as if the Minister has put salt on the wound of the public. The people are not as foolish as he seems to think of them. The Minister said whether any Auto was found running without meter would face consequences. Last time when the fare was hiked the then Minister also promised the same but in vain.

He announced one more thing that is installation of GPS system in every Auto-Rickshaw. I can’t under stand the use of GPS in it except to add burden on the drivers and to show that our Auto are also hi-tech. The drivers of Delhi are well aware of its roads.

If the Govt. is really interested to upgrade the city it should first improve the behaviour of the drivers that is really horrible. People who have faced it know the truth. The drivers should be groomed so that they look like gentlemen.

The Minister said that the hiking of fares was justified as in the past it was hiked in 2007.

The Govt. should improve its public transport system so that it becomes the life line of Delhi. Dependency on the private and personal transport shows the inefficiency of the Govt. and it increases the congestion on the roads as well as pollution in the city.

It has been raining since evening. Anna reached office late by an hour. Boss wanted to ask the reason of coming late. Anna said, ‘What is there to tell you? A boy was coming back home when a car stopped near him and the driver slid down the glass of the gate. The driver offered him to get in to the car but he refused his offer just saying, thank you and started walking on pavement.

After covering some distance, the same car again stopped near him and the driver said, ‘It is too hot outside, car’s AC is on and there is also cold water inside so you may come in to it.’ The boy replied he didn’t want to sit in the car and again began to walk.

After some time, the car stopped near him again and the driver said, ‘If you sit in my car I would give you a chocolate and Rupees twenty.’ The boy retorted that it was enough ‘Dad’ he would not sit in your old model car.

The beggar replied, ‘Sir! My name is Bhagwan Das.’

Magnesium Muriaticum is a homeopathic medicine and is a good liver remedy although neglected in the homeopathic profession. It acts on the liver.
